A DAO is an internet-native entity with no central management which is regulated by a set of automatically enforceable rules on a public blockchain, and whose goal is to take a life of its own and incentivize people to achieve a shared common mission. DAOs offer the tools to build infrastructure by attracting funding, rewarding good work, and making decisions together. A community bank where you can share ideas, and where you aim to turn ideas into reality by actually doing stuff you love.
Why Discord? It's not quite group chat, it's not quite forums, it's not quite conference calling. It's all of those things and none of them. It turns out, in that messy middle, is a place that mirrors what it's like to be human, and interacts with other humans, more closely than just about anything else on the internet. A token-permissioned DAO is a type of restricted access online community that requires the holding of a certain amount of governance tokens in order to be part of it, or else they will be booted from the community by a bot on Discord.
Go to our LiveTheLifeTV Discord & explore what we are building, if you bring your talent, time and ideas, you might be invited to join our UnbanksyTV DAO.
#1. Join the LiveTheLifeTV Discord
The very first step for getting involved with our community is to join our community discussions. Discord is the platform we use to be social and talk not only about our projects and goals but also to get to know one another and build a sense of connection in real-time.
Step 1: Create a Discord Account
If you have never used Discord before, you’ll want to download the application (or access it via web browser) and create your own account with their service.
Step 2: Join LTL’s Community Discord Server
Discord is a service, and LTL has its own server where you can join the conversation. Once you've got your Discord account, you can join the LTL server with this invite.
#2. Poke Through Our Resources
Explore this website, and the #welcome or #general channel in Discord
#3. Introduce Yourself
We want to get to know you! Go to the LTL Discord and find the channel #introductions Post there letting us know that you’re poking into LTL and tell us a bit about yourself.
You may want to share things like:
- What brought you there
- Other projects you’re passionate about
- Why you may want to join our DAO
- Anything else you want to share!
#4. Come to a Community Call
The LTL Community Call is a monthly voice call on the open stage that we encourage anyone in the community to attend, but especially those folks who are new to LTL and want to know more about it. We'll stream the session on TwitchTV
We encourage you to attend one and see how you like our community. We also would love it if you brought a question or two with you about things you’d like to understand better within LTL. That way, not only do you get a chance to learn but others on the call will have the chance as well!
The Community Call is on Tuesday at 11 am PT (double check your time zone) in the “DAO” open stage channel on our Discord. Check out our Calendar and the Sesh Bot will set your reminder. We'd love to have you!
#5. Attend an NFT or DeFi "Jam"
A "Jam" is a scheduled time to discuss a particular topic in LTL on the Discord open stage channel. This is a time to dive deeper into specific topics like crypto-economics, new NFT or DeFi projects, and is a great opportunity for anyone to join the stage. Check out the LTL Calendar to see if there's an upcoming jam with a topic that interests you! It's the best way to get familiar with the lay of the land and start exploring where you may be able to contribute.
