Starting Point: Saint-Émilion

From the Loire to the Champagne Region
We will extend our road trip to the renowned Champagne region, a perfect finale to our French adventure. Your destination: the elegant Château de Sacy, nestled in the heart of Champagne, near Reims.
Approximately 325 kilometers and 5 hours of driving
Depart from Les Sources de Cheverny and head northeast toward Troyes, a charming town that serves as a gateway to the Champagne region. The drive will take you through more of the Loire’s rolling hills and vineyards before transitioning into the Marne Valley's open fields and forests. From Troyes, continue your journey to Épernay, the “Capital of Champagne.” As you approach, you’ll begin to see the famous vineyards that produce the world’s most celebrated sparkling wines. This leg of the trip is filled with picturesque views of the vineyards that stretch as far as the eye can see. Épernay: Known for its Avenue de Champagne, where some of the most prestigious Champagne houses like Moët & Chandon are located. A visit to these maisons for a guided tour and tasting is a must. Just a short drive from Épernay, Reims is another key city in the Champagne region. Its magnificent Gothic cathedral, where French kings were crowned, and its subterranean Champagne cellars offer rich historical and cultural experiences.
Château de Fontainebleau: This royal palace is another excellent stop on your way to Champagne, offering a glimpse into France's opulent past with its grand architecture and beautifully manicured gardens.
