A Place to Live The Life
The "JBay Surf View @ Tubes” flat offers you amazing surf views. You are only about 150 m walking down to the beach and waves. The famous Supertubes wave is another 5 minutes walking along the beach. You can see most of the other surf breaks from the garden and choose the one you want to surf for the day….
Dr. Kurt will show you around in the lineup. He can assist you with lessons and activities. And you’ll get to Live The Life next to the one and only Bruce Gold, one of the first JBay surfers.
'Tubes' is the most luxury flat at the front of the JBay Surf View House with 2 large en-suite bedrooms. Here you have views over the beach and waves from all rooms and even from the shower. The spacious lounge leads out over the timber deck, which looks out over the bay. The kitchen also has an epic view and is fully equipped! A big LCD TV and wireless internet keep you connected to the world.
The view runs from Boneyards at the top – down to Albatross at the bottom – the entire sweep of surf spots. Below the deck, you'll enjoy the garden and outside cooking area with barbecue and more surf views.
The frequent winter SW swells and the occasional E swells that hit this SE facing coastline, turn on dozens of classic point breaks that are hidden away inside crescent-shaped coves. Jeffreys Bay (J-Bay) is obviously the most renowned wave and is considered one of the best right-handers in the world. The J-Bay area has an unstable climate but one that is generally dry. Summers are warm and you could even surf in a shorty. For the remainder of the year, you will need a good full suit. Temperatures can vary widely from day to day. The hot Berg winds can bring high temps and great weather off the mountains followed a day later by a cold front coming off the sea, bringing a sudden drop in temperatures. There is almost always a break to surf.
